Our Charities

Carter Dangerfield // The 20% Pledge

We don’t do “nice little gestures”.
If we’re in, we’re all in.

From day one, Carter Dangerfield has been built like kit you’d trust in the field: over-engineered, hard-wearing, no nonsense. It felt wrong to build a brand with that mindset and not put some of the firepower where it’s actually needed.

So here’s the deal:

We donate 20% of our profits, every year.
That 20% is split equally between three frontline charities:

  • ShelterBox – getting emergency shelter and tools into disaster zones when everything else has gone to hell.
  • SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity – supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families when the dust settles and the rest of the world has moved on.
  • Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) – medical teams walking into the places most people are trying to leave.

No vague “supporting good causes”. No tiny print. Just a clear cut:
Your purchase → our profit → 20% out the door to these three.

Why these three?

Because they match our values:

  • Frontline first. These aren’t desk-chair operations. They’re boots-on-the-ground, tents-in-the-mud, scrubs-in-the-corridor charities.
  • No drama, just action. Quiet professionals doing the work, day in, day out – the same attitude we put into every piece we make.
  • Global reach, real impact. Whether it’s a family under canvas after an earthquake, a veteran struggling in civvy street, or a surgeon working in a war zone – the money goes where it actually matters.

How your purchase helps

Every time you buy from Carter Dangerfield, you’re doing two things:

  • Putting serious kit on your wrist, neck or in your pocket – brass and leather built to take a hit and keep going.
  • Backing people under real pressure – the ones sleeping rough after disaster, the ones who served and are now fighting their own battles, the ones operating in conflict zones with a headtorch and a folding table.

You don’t pay extra. We take the hit from our side.
Because if we can afford to make heavy, over-spec’d jewellery, we can afford to send part of the proceeds to people holding the line for everyone else.

Holding ourselves to account

We treat this like any other mission:

  • 20% of profits donated annually – split three ways, 1/3 each.
  • Same percentage, not just when it’s convenient. Good year or bad, the commitment stays.
  • As we grow, the numbers get bigger. That’s the point.

When the time’s right, we’ll publish simple year-end snapshots showing what went where – nothing glossy, just clear figures.

One last thing

Carter Dangerfield isn’t “inspired by” the military and emergency services from a safe distance. Our whole attitude – discipline, loyalty, looking after your own – comes from that world.

So if you’re wearing CD kit, know this:
It’s not just a piece of metal you’re carrying.
It’s a quiet nod to the people who go towards the trouble, not away from it.

20% of our profits. Three frontline charities.
You wear it. We give it. They get it.
